Is there a conflict in the system if our PCs are on a router (wired), but the PS3 is directly connected to the modem via a switch with a static IP? When I start up the program it sits with the red X telling me it can’t find renderers for about 5-10 minutes, but then it finds a WMP renderer. It never seems to be able to locate the PS3, but I can’t find anything in the FAQ that answers this particular question. This doesn’t seem to want to work, no matter what settings I tweak.

I can view all my files on my ps3 but I can’t play any of them. When I try to play a movie the screen just goes black with the loading icon in the corner. When I try to play music the xmd background will remain but no music will play. What am I doing wrong?

Well I’ve set it up on Windows XP and it works fine great tool.
The only problem I had at first was that it picked up a wrong IP address, so
I disabled it and restarted the server and then it picked up the PS.

These tools are already included in the Windows installation bundle. If you’re using Linux you have to install them by yourself or use the versions available in your distros repository.
