You bought CoreAVC to accelerate video playback of your h.264 media files but it isn’t working? Well… probably you have installed other codecs or codec packs before and and therefore you have now directshow filter chaos
But there’s a solution… No, I don’t talk about reinstalling Microsoft Windows!
You can can display a directshow filter chart with GraphStudio. You can also change priority of directshow filters (e.g. audio and video decoder).
GraphStudio is free and here available for download.
Here’s a small howto for changing codec priority with Graphstudio:
P.S. Please note any settings before changing them!!! Use software at your own risk…
1. Open your media file with render media file
2. Hava a look at the chart. In this example I want to change the audio codec for playing this file from “CoreVorbis Audio Decoder” to “ffdshow Audio Decoder”.
3. Insert filter
4. Select “DirectShow filters” in first dropdown box and then select the filter you want to disable. Click at change merit…
5. Disable the Directshow filter with selecting “MERIT_DO_NOT_USE” and pressing o.k..
6. Select Directshow filter you want to enable and press change merit.
7. Enable the filter with selecting “MERIT_NORMAL – 1″
8. reboot Windows
9. Check chart for media file once again with GraphStudio
10. Test Playback…








can i disable codecs in ffdshow to allow coreavc to work. i got coreavc to work when playing movies on my pc by using the windows filter download you talked about but when i stream i can’t get it to work and don’t know which one of the ffdshow filters to dissable. thank you very much, not important, i can finally stream x264, but would like to do it as efficiently as possible
