This version has a bunch of new options…when do you think you will be able to take a look at it and upgrade the PMS for Dummies instructions. Also if you have an older version you can upgrade for $4.95USD.
Hi Celestial, I don’t think there’s a urgent need to change the guide. Installation with CoreAVC 2.0 is exactly the same as with version 1.9. There are certainly improvements in CoreAVC but most people won’t notice them. The most important change is that there is 64bit support and official support for Win7 as OS. If one has Win7 64bit CoreAVC also accelerates Windows Mediacenter which is 64bit, WMP is available both 32bit and 64bit.
Btw I already tested it with latest PMS beta on Win7 64bit. It worked as expected…
Thanks Otmanix
The reason I was asking was during the install the Haal Media Splitter is an optional install. In your guide it says not to install it but it has a bunch of new items underneath it for Mastroka decoding and I wasn’t sure if I should select it or not. Thanks, I assume I should not be checking the Haal Media Splitter as previous.
Happy New Year!
Hello again,
I think you should either use Haali from Codec pack or CoreAVC but not both of them. You have to deselect Haali in one of the installations. I still use Haali from (latest) K-Lite Codec pack and don’t miss any feature. But you may also test a different installation and use Haali from CoreAVC. I think it shouldn’t matter…
Happy new year, too!
if you do check the box it will delete all other files of haali and just reinstall it i did it
