It appears I’m having a similar issue as the first comment. Once the program is running, I am able to watch videos on the PS3. The problem I have, is I run the PMS.exe (using desk top short cut or running direct), nothing happens, then I run PMS.bat and the program opens and works fine. When running the bat, you then have to click any key to continue and it runs fine. I found the program will run using the jar file as well.

Any ideas why the exe file is not running the bat or jar files? And sorry if I missed something already posted covering this.

I’m just started using the PMS, and the only version I have d/l is the latest 1.52.1 the april release.

Defy is running battery optimized for about 2-3 days. Officially one gets android 2.2.2. For other versions jailbreak is necessary. Camera lens my not be working after upgrading to cyanogen 2.3 depending on the hardware version.

Hi…I installed PMS few days ago on my laptop with windows 7 to connect to xbox360…….but with some avi files had an error like if the type of files was not supported……but the same files can I reproduce with the Media Player streaming……on the xbox appears : filename.avi[Mencoder][Subtitles ] I need change the configuration???

Is there a conflict in the system if our PCs are on a router (wired), but the PS3 is directly connected to the modem via a switch with a static IP? When I start up the program it sits with the red X telling me it can’t find renderers for about 5-10 minutes, but then it finds a WMP renderer. It never seems to be able to locate the PS3, but I can’t find anything in the FAQ that answers this particular question. This doesn’t seem to want to work, no matter what settings I tweak.

Hello Otmanix,
I would like to stream movies stored on the HDD of a Popcorn A-210 to my son’s PS3. The Popcorn is “seen” by the PS3 but whenever I try to access it, I’ve got a DLNA protocol error 2101. Do you have any idea how to fix this?

So I have tested limiting the shared folders. With PMS 1.50.0 on Win7 it works as expected. One can only see the shared folders which were added before.
pms.conf: folders = C:\\,D:\\
So I assume on Linux it should look like
pms.conf: folders = /home/dummy/music,/home/dummy/video
I also tested the IP-filter. With PMS 1.50.0 on Win7 it also worked as expected. Here’s an example to limit access to PMS for only one IP address:
pms.conf: ip_filter = 192.168.0.2

When you say “that feature”, what feature are you referring to? Because as it is, it shares the entire computer that is running it to the entire network.

One may change behaviour regarding subtitles in transcoding settings in PMS.
You can also use virtual folder #Transcoded# where you can chose transcoding engines and subtitlkes/languages manually.

Use: windows xp, ps3 latest version, sony smp-n200 mediaplayer, have .avi and .sub (same name) but do not get subtitles.
